Express Bubble Gas Analysis

Identification of the following bubble sources:

  • Batch melting
  • Reboil
  • Refractory outgassing
  • Electrolysis
  • Mechanical entrapment
  • Redox changes
  • Water leakage
  • Glass melt contamination
   

Identification of bubble sources is based on the following analytical data:

  • Bubble gas composition
    The following gases are analyzed: O2 , N2, CO2, SO2, Ar, H2, COS, H2S, CO, H2, (H2O).
    Additional gases may be analyzed on request.
  • Total internal pressure in kPa
  • Interpretation/evaluation of results
    Based on more than 20 years of experience in the field of glass technology, GS furnace engineers always
    include an estimation of the possible source and probable location of a bubble based on evaluation of its features.

Express Analysis and Interpretation of Stones and Cords

  • EDX-microanalyser analysis and microscopic identification of the solid inclusions in the glass is made in GS laboratory
  • An estimation of the potential origin of the defects is included in each report 
  • Delivery time: 1 - 2 weeks after delivery of samples
